A patient with an altered mental status - something i personally see on daily basis .
Can anyone suggest a few etiologies??DD??

thank you dr cleo md this is an imp topic ,DD will include many causes like : 1)) CNS causes (subdural heamatoma , ....) 2))metabolic causes (hypoglycemia ,hypothyroidism ,hypoxia, hypercapnia ,uremia ,hyper or hyponatremia ) 3)))medications (anticholinergic , tricyclic ......) 4)))) TOXINS (ALCOHOL AND OTHERS) 5))))) infection (bectremia &meningitis )

1. Head injury- damage to brain matter or ICH 2. Deleium 3. Early onset dementia 4. Mania (Bipolar disorder) 5. Schizophrenia 6. Alcohol and drug induced states eg: alcohol induced psychosis
